- Rugged black 5-star nylon base. 24" base is standard; 27" base is used for footring models. Optional polished aluminum base.

A backrest is optional because the correct lumbar curve is maintained naturally by the saddle. However, a backrest can provide an occasional "rest" for prolonged static postures (e.g., microsurgery, transcription) and for people with trunk weakness or poor balance.
